Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU)
With high working pressures up to 1379barg / 20,000psig, our Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs) are designed to provide high and low pressure filtered hydraulic fluid to – often safety critical – control valves. In the event of a loss of power, stored volume is provided via accumulators to ensure safe and effective operation.
With extensive experience in the design, manufacture and maintenance of hydraulic power units, SMS-Alderley can deliver solutions to support a variety of production and marine requirements.
This includes HPUs for:
Intervention & Workover Control System (IWOCS)
Our Intervention and Workover Control Systems enable intervention and completion work on wells through existing subsea systems or control of intervention tooling, meaning you can further install and work on your subsea equipment without incurring unnecessary downtime.
Our IWOCS typically include:
- High working pressures up to 1379barg / 20,000psig
- Bladder and/or piston accumulators (PED, ASME VIII Non or “U” stamped, AS 1210)
- Electrical or pneumatic control options
- Integral autonomous MCC and PLC
- Integral or standalone reservoirs, size to suit application
Testing & Flushing HPU
Our Testing and Flushing Hydraulic Power Units (TFHPUs) are designed to provide test fluid at the required pressures for leak, proof and functional testing as needed, and flushing fluid at variable flow rates to clean external systems.
TFHPUs designs can include:
Topside Umbilical Termination Unit (TUTU)
Located adjacent to the umbilical hang-off and interfacing with other hydraulic and control units, for example the Hydraulic Power Unit or Master Control System, our Topside Umbilical Termination Units (TUTUs) enable the controlled bleeding of systems to help avoid unexpected depressurisation.
