Martin Shaw joins Alderley Group as Chief Financial Officer

Shaw brings vast energy sector experience as Alderley Group targets new growth phase.

Wickwar, Bristol, UK – 5th December 2022:  Martin Shaw has joined the Alderley Group as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) where he will oversee the financial operations of the three Alderley Group companies – Alderley, Kelton and Specialised Management Services (SMS).

Martin’s appointment is a key pillar of Alderley’s growth strategy as an energy sector solutions provider with a growing and successful operational footprint in the UK, Middle East and India.  Martin will form a key part of an experienced executive team headed by CEO, Colin Elcoate, and a senior board consisting of Chair Alan Wilson, and Directors Philippa Slatter and Lucinda Rose.

Martin joins Alderley from global service provider Swire Energy Services where he spent five years as CFO.  At Swire, Martin played a key role in the company’s accelerated growth trajectory to a $150m company, which involved strengthening the oil and gas business and in a similar fashion to Alderley, diversifying into the low carbon energy space.

Previously, Martin started his career at Barclays Capital and Goldman Sachs before entering the oil and gas industry where he held senior roles as Director of Treasury at Subsea 7 and CFO at Ocean Installer.

Colin Elcoate, CEO Alderley Group said:

“In a vibrant global energy market, Martin will be crucial in helping Alderley to enter the next phase of its growth strategy.  Martin is well known in the industry as a class act combining deep sector knowledge with a positive, can-do mindset.  I’m delighted to welcome Martin to Alderley – he will be making visits to all of Alderley’s offices in his first few months in the role so he can learn about all the great work we’re doing and how we can improve further.”

Martin Shaw, CFO Alderley Group added:

“It’s fantastic to be joining Alderley at this exciting time for the global energy sector as the company drives towards delivering its ambitious growth plan.  Alderley is well known throughout the energy sector as a company that anticipates and moves ahead of market trends rather than follows them – for example, in digitalisation and innovation in the measurement space – I look forward to being part of what is a tremendous opportunity.”

Martin will be based at Kelton’s office in Aberdeen and is married with two daughters.  Outside of work, Martin’s passion is supporting his youngest daughter’s incredible career as a paralympic swimmer for team Scotland and GB.  Indeed, Martin watched his daughter win bronze at the recent Commonwealth games in Birmingham.
